April 2020 Health news

Let’s talk about staying healthy, informative news outlets, different ways you can exercise at home, COVID-19 health safety tips, and reducing the risk of lung disease.

It is imperative that we change the way this nation views health. We have to transition from sickness care to wellness care, and this starts with your physician. The advice from Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine, to future doctors was, “advise your patients in the care of the human frame; proper diet and in the cause and prevention of disease. And look to the spine as the source of disease.”

When the American public starts to actively seek healthcare first rather than crisis (sick) care, this nation will begin to heal and reduce its healthcare costs. Chiropractors are at the front line of providing health care, and I invite you to come in for a health exam, or send in someone you know who is suffering and hasn’t found relief with the medical model.

My office is taking every precaution to keep all surfaces germ-free and we are all wearing surgical masks. Plus, you know that I wash my hands after every patient. We are considered “essential” and will remain open to provide you with chiropractic care. If you would like a tele-conference with me instead, please call or email me with any questions. Also, some patients have asked if I would consider doing house calls. If that interests you, I have a portable table which I can use, so let me know if you want a house visit. Dr. Ben

I want to share with you two news outlets I subscribe to (for free) that are chock full of information and try not to be political. They each report on culture, science, trends and just interesting news you can use. Check them out.

NUTRITION THOUGHTS

From the Cancer Epidemiology Research Program at Vanderbilt U., a study of 1.4 million people found that a diet high in fiber and yogurt reduced the risk of lung disease by 33%. They believe the benefit is due to a combination of the prebiotics in fiber and the probiotics in yogurt. Plus, yogurt is high in calcium and fiber is extremely beneficial in digestion and reducing colon cancer as well.
