WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR FIRST VISIT

  • You should expect to be listened to; that your questions, concerns, and health condition will be the focus of the initial exam.
  • You should expect to find out what the origin is of your problem, whether you can be helped, how long it will take, and the costs that are involved.
  • You can expect a review of your medical history and an examination with neurological, orthopedic, and postural testing. From this information, a treatment program to help you heal in a timely fashion will be established.
  • If you are looking to improve your athletic performance, additional testing will be used to establish strengths and weaknesses, in order to create an appropriate training program.

Dr. Griffes sees people of all ages, from babies to great-grandparents, of all races, cultures and gender; athletes and those who never exercise; those in acute pain and those who pursue a wellness lifestyle.  All are welcome, and you will be treated with the utmost respect and care.

Dr. Griffes offers the following services:

Chiropractic spinal adjustments: Dr. Griffes has 33 years experience adjusting the spine, always learning new techniques to improve his ability to deliver the best chiropractic experience for his patients. He uses a number of different methods that are gentle and non-force, and will adjust you in a manner that is the best for you. Dr. Griffes also includes the Cox spinal traction/decompression in his practice as an effective method for addressing herniated discs and sciatica.

Deep-tissue bodywork: Dr. Griffes is one of only a handful of people in the world who are chiropractors and trained as Hellerwork practitioners. Hellerwork is a method of deep-tissue bodywork designed to realign the muscles, release old habit patterns that contribute to tension and restriction in the body, and teach new patterns of movement that promote ease and efficiency. Dr. G continues to employ the basic principles of Hellerwork that he first learned in 1981 as an adjunct to his chiropractic care.

Exercise prescription: Dr. Griffes earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from CSUN in 1986, and continues to study the latest trends in fitness and conditioning. He wrote a book on stretching in 2001, and continually updates his patients on the benefits of stretching, along with practical suggestions for improving their health and fitness and their sports performance. Dr. G is also active in mountain biking, cycling, hiking, disc golf, ball golf and playing music.

Lifestyle coaching: Optimal health includes eating properly, getting adequate amount of sleep, watching your posture and have a positive mental attitude. Dr. Griffes works with his patients to help them with their weight management, sleeping well and improving their posture, usually with simple suggestions that can help make noticeable lifestyle improvements.

Auto Accidents: We specialize in helping you get back to feeling like yourself after an auto accident. We know that it can be a scary time and we make it our goal to ensure that you feel great as quickly as possible.
