June 2025 Newsletter

Let’s talk about coherence, healthy snacks, pillows, and power moves to keep you healthy.

I learned something new this past weekend.  In fact, I learned a lot.  I attended a chiropractic seminar for 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday, primarily focused on taking care of pregnant mothers and treating babies.  A disturbing statistic is that 99% of babies born have subluxations – vertebral misalignments in their neck and spine.  This is due to the way a baby is tugged and pulled out of the womb, instead of letting the mother squat or sit and let the baby “drop” out of the womb, the doctor has to deliver the baby.  Anyway, newborns need to be checked by a chiropractor.  This is serious.

I learned a new word that has three elements to it, and you and I deal with it every day, only I never knew there was a description of what we believe.  Coherence has as sense of comprehensibility, a belief that things happen in an orderly and predictable fashion and a sense that you can understand events in your life and reasonably predict what will happen in the future.  I think driving your car is an example of this.

Manageability is a belief that you have the skills or ability, the support, the help or the resources necessary to take care of things, and that things are manageable and within your control.  A good example of this is your health; what you eat, how much you sleep, your posture, amount of exercise, your mental attitude, and do you get adjusted regularly.

Meaningfulness: is a belief that things in life are interesting and a source of satisfaction, that things are really worthwhile and that there is good reason or purpose to care about what happens.  I think having fulfilling hobbies, playing with grandchildren, volunteering your time and energy are activities that are interesting and a source of satisfaction.

So take a good look at your coherence and see where it fits in to your life and belief system.  Blessings.  Dr. Ben

THOUGHTS FOR THE MONTH

How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause… It is such a splendid sunny day, and I have to go. But how many have to die on the battlefield in these days, how many young, promising lives. What does my death matter if by our acts thousands are warned and alerted. -Sophie Scholl, student and anti-Nazi activist (9 May 1921-1943) [Her last words before being executed by guillotine.]

When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace turns into a circus. -Turkish Proverb

HUMOROUS THOUGHTS FOR THE MONTH

“I’d be unstoppable if I wasn’t so sleepy all the time.”

“Some things are better left unsaid, which I usually realize after I say them.”

“I wanna be nice, but everyone annoys me.”

“A really fun thing you can do in the morning is not talk to me before I have my coffee.”
